2. General information and legal bases


We process personal data of the users of this website only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and to deliver our content and services, or where you have given your consent. Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

Processing is governed by the GDPR, the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) and, with regard to the storage of information on your terminal equipment or access to information already stored there, by Section 25 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).

The following legal bases may apply:

  • Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR: your consent
  • Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR: performance of a contract or steps taken prior to entering into a contract
  • Article 6 (1) (c) GDPR: compliance with a legal obligation
  • Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR: our legitimate interests


3. Hosting and server log files

The provider processes the data generated when you visit this website on our behalf. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. The servers are located in Germany.

When you access this website, the server automatically collects information transmitted by your browser and stores it in log files:

  • browser type and browser version
  • operating system used
  • referrer URL
  • host name of the accessing device
  • date and time of the server request
  • IP address


This data is not merged with other data sources and is not analysed to evaluate user behaviour. Collection is technically necessary in order to deliver the website, ensure its stability and security, and investigate misuse. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Log files are deleted as soon as they are no longer required to ensure the proper operation of the website and to investigate misuse.


4. SSL/TLS encryption


For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the prefix “https://” in the address bar and by the padlock symbol in your browser. When encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.


5. Cookies


Our website uses strictly necessary cookies only. They serve to make the website available and functional, in particular to store the language version you have selected and to identify logged-in editors.

We use these cookies on the basis of Section 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG and Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR; consent is not required for this purpose.

We do not use cookies for analytics, statistical or marketing purposes, nor any services that transmit data to third parties. Should this change, we will obtain your consent beforehand and update this privacy policy.

You can delete cookies in your browser at any time or restrict their storage. Doing so may limit the functionality of this website.


6. Fonts


In order to display fonts consistently, we use web fonts that are stored locally on our server. No connection to third-party servers is established for this purpose.


7. Contacting us by e-mail or telephone


If you contact us by e-mail or telephone, we process the information you provide in order to handle your enquiry and deal with any follow-up questions. This includes in particular your name, contact details and the content of your message.

The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or to steps taken prior to entering into a contract, and otherwise Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.


8. Contact form


You can send us a message using the form on our website. We process the fields you complete together with your message. Mandatory fields are marked as such in the form; all other information is provided voluntarily.

Transmission is encrypted. Your details are forwarded by e-mail to the relevant department within our company and stored on our web server for the duration of the processing of your enquiry.

The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR for contract-related enquiries and otherwise Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected; statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.


9. Product and quotation enquiries


You can submit non-binding enquiries about our products via our website. No purchase contract is concluded on the website; your enquiry is transmitted to us by e-mail and processed individually.

We process the contact and company details you provide together with the products you have enquired about. The legal basis is Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR, as the processing is necessary in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract.

If a contract is concluded, we store the data in accordance with the retention periods under commercial and tax law. In that respect the legal basis is Article 6 (1) (c) GDPR in conjunction with Section 147 of the German Fiscal Code (AO) and Section 257 of the German Commercial Code (HGB).


10. Newsletter


You can subscribe to our newsletter on our website. Your e-mail address is required for this purpose; any further information is provided voluntarily.

After you have subscribed, we send you an e-mail containing a confirmation link. You are only added to the distribution list once you have confirmed. This ensures that no one can be subscribed using someone else’s e-mail address. In order to demonstrate that a subscription has taken place, we store the time of subscription and confirmation as well as the IP address used.

The legal basis is your consent pursuant to Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter and withdraw your consent at any time, either via the unsubscribe link contained in every newsletter e-mail or by contacting us. The lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of your consent prior to its withdrawal remains unaffected.

After you have unsubscribed, we store your e-mail address on a suppression list in order to prevent future mailings. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in complying with your objection, Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

We use a service provider to distribute the newsletter, which processes the data on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. We have concluded a data processing agreement with this provider pursuant to Article 28 GDPR. We do not analyse your individual opening or click behaviour.


11. Job applications


You can apply to us by e-mail, either for an advertised vacancy or on an unsolicited basis. We process the application data you submit, in particular your contact details, covering letter, curriculum vitae and references, solely for the purpose of conducting the application procedure.

The legal basis is Section 26 (1) BDSG in conjunction with Article 88 GDPR and Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR. Within our company, access is granted only to those departments involved in deciding on your application.

If no employment relationship is established, we delete your application documents six months after completion of the procedure. This period safeguards our legitimate interest in defending against potential claims under the German General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If you would like us to keep your documents on file for longer in view of future vacancies, we will ask for your separate consent.


12. Links to websites of affiliated companies


Our website contains links to the websites of affiliated companies and distribution partners. When you click on such a link, you leave our website. The respective operator is solely responsible for any processing of personal data on the linked website; the privacy notices published there apply.


13. Recipients and transfers to third countries


We disclose personal data only where this is necessary for the performance of a contract, where we are legally obliged to do so, where you have given your consent, or where we have a legitimate interest in doing so.

Recipients are in particular our hosting provider, our newsletter service provider and the internet agency engaged by us to provide technical support for the website. These service providers act as processors within the meaning of Article 28 GDPR and are bound by our instructions.

Personal data is not transferred to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.


14. Storage period


We process personal data only for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose. The data is then deleted unless statutory retention obligations apply, in particular the retention periods of six and ten years under commercial and tax law.


15. Data security


We implement technical and organisational measures in accordance with Article 32 GDPR in order to protect your data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. Our measures are continuously adapted in line with technological developments.


16. Your rights


You have the right at any time to:

  • access the personal data stored about you (Article 15 GDPR)
  • rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR)
  • erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
  • restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
  • data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
  • withdraw consent you have given, with effect for the future (Article 7 (3) GDPR)

Right to object pursuant to Article 21 GDPR

Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests, you have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation. Where we process data for direct marketing purposes, you may object at any time without giving reasons; the data will then no longer be processed for that purpose.
